Description:    Kalia is a tall snowleopard, male, who was born in Phoenixbrook and has lived there his entire life. A big fan of heavy rock music, he looks the part with his choice of clothes, black studded belts and armbands, and long hair. Which makes him seem a little out of place as the owner of Phoenixbrook's largest and most diverse second-hand bookshop, The Bookshelf. Originally, having always loved books and discovering a talent for tracking them down and selling them, Kalia ran the business from a market stall. The business grew rapidly and after a few years he bought the shop in Elmbrook Street.

Kalia likes travelling, though he has never been abroad. He takes every chance to visit other towns across Aredria, in his search for rare and obscure books and magazines, or trying to find rarities that people have requested. He took on Leana as an assistant five years before the story starts, and is a close friend of hers. He appears a little gruff and moody at times, but in fact he is actually very friendly and easy going. However, one thing Leana wishes is that Kalia would spend more money on the shop itself, which is not exactly in the best condition, especially the tiny "office" at the back, which has certainly seen better days.

Kalia has a wife, also a snowleopard, called Serenade and a young daughter called Elyria.
